Lubbock Preston Smith International Airport (LBB) is a 20-minute drive from Texas Tech campus and services American Airlines, American Eagle, Southwest Airlines, and United Airlines.
All Symposium events will be held in the Texas Tech Music Building at 18th and Boston. The Staybridge Suites Lubbock has offered conference attendees a discounted rate of $120.40/night, plus tax (regular $139.99, plus tax). These are studio suites that sleep up to three people in a queen size bed and sofa/bed. All rooms are non-smoking and parking and breakfast are included in the price.

These rooms will be held until 6pm, September 26. After that date, the rooms go back to the regular rate ($139.99).

The other option within walking distance of the Music Building is the Woodrow House Bed and Breakfast. They have a variety of rooms and prices. (no conference rate)

The two hotels listed above are a five-minute walk from the Music Building. There are many other hotels in Lubbock but not within walking distance. The football team is out of town on this weekend so there should be plenty of availability in Lubbock.
There are a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner options within walking distance of the Music Building. In fact the Music Building is attached to the Student Union which features 13 eating options (including Starbucks) and adjacent to a brand new dining facility, The Commons, with 9 restaurant options. There are also many eateries along University Avenue and along 19th Street.
There is a charge for parking on campus Monday-Friday, 7:30am-8:00pm. (Saturday and Sunday are free parking.) The Music Building parking lot (a.k.a. the Band Lot) costs $1.50/hour or $9 all day and features a kiosk that accepts coins and credit cards (see photos below). You can also pay for the parking with a mobile app available at www.paybyphone.com. Please be aware that the Traffic and Parking Department at Texas Tech is very diligent and efficient. The School of Music will be unable to help if your car is ticketed or towed due to a parking violation.
